I sick momom

So it has been a while since I last blogged. I am not so good at writting all of the time. I am definately an emotional writter, but some exciting and funny moments happened last week so I had to put them in writting so I could remember and tease the boys later.

First, Benjamin took his first steps at Axis 2 weeks ago. It was so exciting to have our church family there for the moment. I was screaming for Daniel because I didn't want him to miss it. I was so excited that he was actually taking a step I wasn't really paying attention to who he was walking to. But there were several people who wanted to see him walk after that so we were trying to get him to take steps the rest of the night.

Benjamin is going to be our electronic techy. He is ALWAYS going after the remote, cell phones, computer. He prefers the remote over balls. He likes to play with cars with Titus. He still loves to play with his brother. It's funny to take Benjamin into the room when we are trying to wake Titus up. Benjamin gets into the bed and starts pulling the covers down and then jumps on Titus. It is the funniest thing considering Titus normally does that to us if and when he wakes up before us. He jumps into bed yelling "It 9 'oclock, time to get up." although it could be 8 or 10:00. He just knows 9:00 is time to get up, I don't know why.

The other day Titus was looking through the drawers and found some homeopathic medication. This is what our conversation went
Titus: I sick Mommom, I need medicine (While trying to show me which medicine he needed)
Lizzy: Why, where does it hurt? What's wrong?
Titus: The water made me sick, Mommom. (pulling up his shirt & pointing to his stomach)
Lizzy: You haven't had any water.
Titus: I need medicine, I sick
Lizzy: Why don't you lay down to see if you won't feel better after you rest.
So he would forget about it and then later he would come back, we had this conversation about 3 times this day.
The night before we had made some ginger bread houses and he saw them sitting on the counter top. He wanted to eat them.
Titus: I want to eat my house
Lizzy: Well Titus if you aren't feeling well you can't eat your house
Titus: but I want to eat my house
Lizzy: are you sick or do you want to eat
Titus: I want to eat my house (but he really meant the house Mommom built)

We were at Target the other day shoping with Grammi and Titus was told to stop touching. Two aisles later, Grammi was feeling blankets and Titus said "No touching, no touching" with a hey, how come you can touch, but I can't.

Tonight Daniel went to check on Titus and all I hear is "Don't move, stay right there". Daniel came back and said "Go look at your son". I went to Titus' room, he had stripped his bed and was holding his bottom sheet in his hand saying "It is dirty". What do you mean the sheet is dirty, it's 10:30? All he could say was "It dirty, Mommom. It needs to be washed". He is getting so smart and whitty!!

So any ways. I hope that was entertaining for you as much as it was when it happened. I am loving being with my kids. A little overwhelmed, but loving it!!!! They have SOOOOO much energy.
Have a good night and don't freeze.

You can tell him Titus don't touch, he will say "I not touching"

Feeding the ducks

Yesterday was the funniest thing Titus has done in a long time. We were on our way down the stairs, Titus would go down and Momom had to stay at the top of the stairs and "wait" until Titus got to the bottom of the stairs. It wasn't just the way he said it, picture this, Titus going walking down the stairs, and looking back at your sticking his hand out like, talk to the hand, while saying "Wait" with an attitude. and then when he got to the bottom of the section he would look back at you like it was okay to go now. Well, I dropped the stroller I was trying to get down the stair and it made a loud noise, Titus stops half way down and says "Shhhh momom, you're being too loud" and then "he's praying, Shhhh momom, you're being too loud, he's praying". But there was no one down at the bottom of the stairs or in the parking lot that I could see. His attitude was so funny.

He walking almost all the way to the ducks and then when he got there the ducks came running to us. They came REALLY close, almost scary they were so close. We ran out of bread and I think they were still hungry. Titus kept wanting to hold the "baby duck", but I think he just meant the smaller duck. Some of the ducks were very big.

Tonight we wen't trick-or-treating my friend Sue and her family. Titus is such a flirt, he wanted to walk and hold all of the girls hand. There aren't that many houses participating in the trick-or-treat, but he still racked the candy!! He was Batman this year. All week long, we talked about him being Batman, and then when the time comes to dressup, he decides he doesn't want to be batman anymore. By the end of the night there were several little kids going trick-or-treat with him. I will post pictures later. I him!!!!

First Week

So it is Friday on the first week of being a stay at home mom. Can I just say I LOVE IT!!!!! I love being around my kids all day and getting to play with them and teach them things and just listen to what they say. Titus surprises me all of the time, yesterday we were sitting around and out of the blue he says, "My ears are growing". Where did that come from? It is so funny some of the things he says. Daniel started a game with Titus this weekend and it is so much fun. We just go back and forth saying "I love you" and then the next person says "I love you" and it gradually gets louder and you start laughing. I just love hearing my kids say "I love you, momom" It makes your heart mealt!!

Benjamin is sleeping the whole night through most of the time. This morning he was crying and i went to get him out of his crib and he was standing up in his crib. I wondered is he going to start trying to get out pretty soon? We put Titus in a toddler bed before he figured out how to escape. Benjamin is starting to looking like a different kid. Everyone always says he looks just like his brother, and he does but he is starting to different features. He is growing up so fast, I saw a baby the other day and was saddened because Benjamin isn't that small any more. He is starting to eat the food off of our plates and he tries to drink out of Titus's sippie cups when Titus leaves them around. Which I am not complaining about, it will be easier to transition to the next stage. He is now crawling and loves to stand and hold on to things. He also LOVES to play with Titus. He laughes at Titus all of the time!!!

So staying at home is a great next step for our family. I can cook dinner and pack lunches for Daniel and even make breakfast, if that includes making it early. At the begining of the week, the kids were getting up at 6:30 wide awake ready to go, and now they sleep until about 7:30, but I try to keep them in bed as long as possible, because I love to sleep!!!!

Misc...

I am officially a stay at home mom, or momom as Titus likes to call me. Can I just say I am so excited and blessed that God has provided a way for me to stay at home and raise my children. Today we went to the park and Titus picked up Horse Apples hid in the trees from I don't know who. But it was so much fun to just hang out with my 2 year old. He is so much fun.

I have to tell you I realized last week why parents with Toddlers are ALWAYS late. If they aren't it is a miracle. Emotional break downs, they have them for no apparent reason and at the most inopportune times. Like right as you are walking out the door to go to work and if you don't leave at that exact moment you will be late. It is just amazing the timing that Toddlers have.

I also have to share the funniest story ever of what happened to me the other day, this is also why I was late to work. I was getting all of the trash together and Titus wanted to eat his yogurt. He got a small spoon and then Benjamin came over and wanted some, so Titus was nice and started feeding Benjamin. I was watching from the kitchen, he was doing really well feeding Benjamin and I even went over to help a little. I went back to cleaning the kitchen, next thing I know he is eating it with his fingers, not a big deal… then I look over and it is all over his hand and up to his wrist… then I see him trying to put it in Benjamin’s hair and all over Benjamin. Titus is now bathing in yogurt. It’s like I couldn’t get there fast enough. About this time Steph comes in the door, Benjamin has more yogurt on him than I realize and Titus is still trying to rub yogurt on himself like it is lotion. So I asked Steph if she could give them a bath. She said yes, not a big deal. I started the bath and got yogurt all over me trying to get the boys in the bath tub.

Have I told you how much I love my Titus!!!!

I am so proud

I know I haven't posted in a while, but time has been flying by with church and work and the boys. I wish I could find a job to work from home so that I could spend more time with them. Titus is growing up so fast. Last night when we were getting a bath, he wanted to wash himself. I trying to wash him so that we could get out, he stood up and told me no and started to wash his arms and tummy and even his legs and booty. He has been so loving towards his brother lately as well. The other day when we got home, he wanted to get Benjamin out of his carier to hold him, but after about 5 minutes he started to almost push him out of his arms. This morning Benajamin was hanging out in his car seat waiting for us to leave and Titus wanted to help buckle him in, he didn't want any of my help, he wanted to do it himself. He is getting so independent. Then the sweetest thing of all, he leaned over and huged Benjamin and said really softly "I yove you". It almost made me cry. Then he started kissing on him and giving him tons of kisses and hugs. He really loves his brother. I hope and pray that they continue to be loving brothers when they get older.

Benjamin loves to watch Titus play and loves it when Titus talks to him and plays with him. He starts to let us know when he is un happy. You can see the anticipation in his face for the day when he can get on the floor and play with Titus and My Daddy (as Titus says).

Anyways... I am blessed with 2 loving little boys and a great husband!!! God is so good.

A day in the eyes of a Two year old

I can say that I got to sleep in today. I can't remember the last day I got to sleep in when Daniel wasn't home (he lets me sleep in on Saturdays sometimes). Both boys slept until 8:30 this morning. It was soooo nice!!!

We have been trying to potty train, so we tell Titus "You have to tell us when you have to go potty". Titus comes up to me and says "Poop", yeah we are on our way. I said okay, let's run to the bathroom, while I am getting off of the couch and putting Benjamin in his swing, Titus goes and grabs his Cars coloring book (magazine) to read in the bathroom. So we go through the coloring book naming the characters as we come across them. He wants to be just like his daddy!

Later Titus is playing in his room and I hear him saying "Yeah" and then a pause, "Yeah, and then a pause. Wondering who he is talking to, I go into his room. He is sitting in his toy box which he has thrown everything on to his bedroom floor. He is still saying "Yeah" and finally he raises a cell phone that is talking. when you push the button it says, "May I help you?", and his response is always "Yeah".

Titus is so thoughtful of his brother, he watches out for him a lot. Benjamin was a little fussy today while he was laying on his back. He just wanted someone to talk to him and he had a bubble in him tummy. Titus was talking to him and then gently rolled him over onto his stomach. Titus then went and got a blanket to cover both of them up, they were going to take a nap together. Benjamin burped and then Titus came to be and said "towel". I didn't understand why he wanted a towel, he found another blanket and went and wiped up his brother's spit up. He is soooo sweet. He is and is going to be a great bigger bother!!!!

Whatz That?

My favorite quote from Titus right now is "Whaz that?", but I think it is in the way he says it. I don't think I could drescribe it. I am going to try and get it on video so that I can post it. He is such a funny kid.

This morning on the way to my mom's house, out of the blue, he roared like a bear and then said "bear". He did the roar sound and telling us it was a bear for several times. So then we proceeded to go through all of the animal sounds Daniel and I could think of dog, cow, pig, elephant, monkey... Daniel was howling and Titus said it was a wolf. It is so much fun now that he is starting to talk and learn what his animals are.

Benjamin is growing so fast though, he is going to give his brother a run for his money. I put an outfit on him today that was 3/6 months and he fills it out. He just turned 3 months old last Wednesday. He is growing too fast. I found him an entertainment mat for my mom's house to help keep him busy and he loves to lay underneath it!! I made one for our house and he loves to lay underneath it and swing at the toys.

I love my boys

Can I just say the best part of my day is waking up and having my 2 year old wake up and come to me with his arms in the air saying "Ol me, ol me". Then we snuggle on the couch and watch the news together and then most morning we loose track of time and start running late. From I never know what the day is holding for me. Titus has definately hit the terrible two's.. he's not a terrible kid, but he already has the "I'm trying to be sneaky" smile with the squinty eyes and the saying "I'm sorry" when I am in trouble. He is really good about turning the tears on and off, going from crying because he thinks he is in trouble to laughing trying to get you to forget about it. I love him to death though!!!

We played baseball last night while watching the Ranger's game (we couldn't watch anything else), but we didn't finish watching the game because it went too late, last time I checked on the game they were in the 11th ining. Titus is so funny when he wants you to play baseball with him. He will bring you a glove and he will have his bat in his hand along with a ball and then his batting helmet on. He can actually hit the ball back to you know. Which is so much fun!!! Then after he is tired of batting he will come and bring you the bat (try to get you to wear the batting helmet as well) and take the glove and ball from you. He is a good little pitcher. It's funny to watch him pitch sometime, he ducks his head and closes his eyes while he is throwing the ball and is still pretty acurate. He is going to be our slugger.

Benjamin is just as fun, he is starting to smile and coo at you. He loves to lay on the floor and look at you. He will throw his arms and kick his legs. He is going to have a great personality like Titus. He can push up really well now when he is on his stomach, he doesn't like it that much though.

It is starting to become consignment/garage sale season for myself. I love to start shopping for Christmas for the boys. I have gotten some really good deals the last couple of years. I am going to one in McKinney this weekend to kick off the season.

Catching Up

Wow, having two kids takes a lot of adjusting and getting used to. Of course the obvious, it takes longer to get ready in the morning, but you have to watch out for 2 kids instead of just one. Going to the store for the first time was interesting, I didn't want to go by myself the first couple of times. I would purposely wait until Daniel got home from work and then I would leave one of the boys, most of the time Titus, with Daniel and I would take the other one to the store. Now that I have had time to adjust, it's not that big of a deal. I wouldn't trade this for anything though!!! I love having two little boys.

Last night Titus found one of his Christmas presents. I had it in the wrong closet, his, and the door was open. So we sat in his room and Daniel let me put it together for Titus. Titus was trying to help and rushing me at the same time. It was funny, he wanted to ride it all last night. Daniel said he woke up this morning and with a big grin said "Cycle, cycle?" like he was rediscovering it this morning. He was riding it all over the apartment this morning while we were trying to get ready for the day. He is so funny!! He is growing up so fast. It was like he could talk so much clearer over night. My 2 favorite things he does is ask "Wha you doin?". This morning he told me I did a good job puting his tricycle together. He came over gave me a big hug and then patted me on the back and said "Good job, good job". I had the biggest grin on my face after that.

I thought I would post this, I found it on Cari's blog and thought it was funny

I am loving this

I have to admit I am addicted to the Blogging. I find myself wondering what am I going to write about tonight. Watching my boys thinking about the new and funny things I can write about. I love reading my friends blogs as well. Reading about their day, what God has showed them in their time along with him or how their kids lightened their day. Bloging has been a lot more fun than I thought.

I kept my sisters little boy (9 mo old) today. So it was fun watching 3 kids, 2 year old and younger. It was cute to watch the boys interact with each other, they are so loving when they want to be, but they will let each other know when they want to be left alone. Titus would love on Travis and then Travis would later beat on Titus' back.

I have realized over the last couple of days that I only have 1 1/2 week left until I have to go back to work. I need to spend all the time I can with Titus. Yesterday we rolled around on the floor together "getting" each other. Sometimes I feel like I forgot how to have fun.

This morning Titus came into the living room with him Centurian helmet on and his sword in his hand. He put the helmet on a stuff bear that he had placed on the floor in front of the couch and start swinging at his head. Where do they learn these things? Then we decided that the stuffed beaver had a better head for the helmet so we proped the beaver up and he went to beheading the beaver.

Later on I found Titus in his room getting his "tools" out. He began to drill on the wall and then got his hammer and started hammering a nail into the wall.

Gearing Up

Today was felt uneventful, but I got a lot done. I am trying to recover from being sick this weekend, with the stomach virus. It's not fun to sit on the couch all weekend, when you have a month old laying around with you and a 2 year old runing around. Daniel was so sweet, he let me sleep in on Saturday and made breakfast and cleaned the kitchen. Today we did clean our apartment. It is always so nice to have a clean house!!

Deidra came over and we talked about Camp Conquer; it's getting to be that time of year again. We are gearing up, looking for kids and volunteers and trying to make it better than last year. Every year we strive to make camp run smoother and reach out to more families. Last year was our first year to have an article written about camp in the Dallas Morning News. This year the same reporter is going to see if she can't run an article before camp to let everyone know it is coming up soon. Deidra said we have 15 kids signed up for camp so far, and it isn't until May. These last couple of years we didn't started getting applications until the month before or the month of camp.

Titus said Benjamin clearly for the first time. It was so awesome, but he didn't say it again. The last couple of days he has been coming up to Benjamin and calling him baby. When you ask Titus what Benjamin's name is he says Baby. I was wondering if that is what he was going to call him the rest of Benjamin's life. Payton and Dylan came over to play with Titus while Deidra and I were talking, Titus was so excited. He would tell them "ome here" at one point he went and got them by the hand and kept saying "ome here" and point to his room. He LOVES having kids to play with!! Daniel told him how to say Punk today, so he would tell Dylan "ome on, unk". He is starting to talk a lot and so clearly some times. Tonight we found a sleeping bag in the closet and it was a small one for kids. Titus rolled around in it for a long time, but decided it was too warm to sleep in, so he fell alseep on the floor beside the sleeping bag. Have I said how much I love him?!

This last week as I was preparing for worship (reading James 3:1-12) I came across an interesting statement in a commontary that I read several times. It said It is better to fight a fire than to go around seeting new ones! It was like God was telling me I hade to solve a problem that I have been waiting for it to resovle or fix itself. I can't just talk about it, I have to actually adress this problem head on. I realize how much of a nonconfrontational person I am. As much as I want to be confrontational and I will say to myself or to my husband this is what I would do. I am a scaredy cat!! I want or wish people will read my mind and/or the problem will just fix itself. God has opened my eyes to the fact that I need to be more confrontational and truthfully honest in love, and I can with His help.

I'm A Big Boy Now

So we have been working on the potty training with Titus in order to get out of diapers. Hopefully soon!! Diapers are getting so expensive and I absolutely hate the idea of cloth diapers. I just would feel guilty for doing that to a baby sitter or someone at church or my mom who watches him during the day. So we on our outing together went and got him some Big Boy underwear. He picked them out, they have construction equipment on them. He has been playing around with them the last couple of days. We took them out of the package and asked him if he wanted to wear them, he said no. I was hopeing that one day he would want to wear them and I guess potty train himself. Like I said I was hoping or dreaming. One day when it gets warm outside we are going to put him in them and see what happens. Today he got a pair and started trying to put it on his head. Wanting to be like Daddy who puts pants and different types on clothes on his head being goofy and entertaining. Titus then wanted to put the underwear on. I was so excited thinking okay, he is ready. "Okay, let's take your diaper off, so we can put them on." Titus said "No"; he just wanted to put them on over his pants to wear around the house. So for most of the day today he was wearing them, it was just outside of his pants. It was so cute though. I am so proud of him.

Titus has been saying "Elp U" for a couple different things lately. It either means, I want to help you, I want to sit up on the counter top or open this. It is funny to try and figure out what he is trying to say. I love it that he is starting to talk more and more clearly every day. I can almost have a full conversation with him. I am looking forward to the day that I can ask how his day was and he answers back with something I understand. But then I will be saying that he is growing up too fast. Raising children is a bittersweet experience.

My mom said something the other day that has been stuck. We don't pray for our families enough. I didn't really give any thought to it at first, but then after I got home that night, I realized I don't pray for my husband, kids, or close friends and family enough. I have been trying to make a conscience effort to pray for those close to me on a daily basis. How is it that the God who created us tends to get put on the back burner so much? I admit I have done it over the past month or two. It's not something I do intentionally, but one day goes by and then the next and before you know it, it has been quit a while since I have read my Bible or even had a decent coversation with God. I mean talked to God like He was right infront of me haveing a meal with me. I admire Cari and Karl. They have the most pasionate prayers. It always is as if they are talking to their best friend. How come I can't or don't prayer like that? Is the something that comes with practice or you just have that ability?

Wanting to remember

I have always wanted to journal, but growing up it was always when I was mad or depressed about something. So I wante to start a blog where I could write about what's going on and remember all those little things that you forget if you don't write down. I love my two little boys, Titus and Benjamin. Now I understand how proud parents don't talk about much other than their kids. Their acheivements, funny stories, new words of the day, accomplishments and frustrations/headaches that they cause. Here are the Lilly Stories as told by myself.

Today I got to have an outing with myself and Titus. We went to Chick-fil-a for a late lunch and then out for some shoping. He went and played on the play ground, he still young enough I can get him to eat a couple of pieces of chicken before he runs off to play. He surprised me and was able to open the door to get to the playground all by himself. I hid from him at one point and we were chasing each other around a big tube until he was saying "Mommy, Mommy" wondering where I had gone. It was nice to hear that love in his voice wondering where his Mommy had gone to. He tried to climb up the slide, each time he would go farther and farther up, trying to get to the top(he never got there). Then we went shoping to get a gift for Jessica's little girl, Madyline, who was born Monday, Feb. 11 and the rest of Daddy's Valentine's gift. Our last stop was at Target, Titus was so tired he almost fel asleep in the buggie. If you can picture, Titus, sitting his knees in the back of the buggie with his head tilted back and his eyes barely being kept open, while his sways back and oth barely missing the side of the buggie. The poor litte gut was so tired. It was a blast just hanging out with Titus and not have to worry about anything else.

Titus has been such a great big brother since Benjamin arived, Jan. 16. He wants to hold him and help take care of him, although he still has a jealous streak. Today I found him crawling up in my lap while he was watching "Mouse" (aka Tom and Jerry the Movie). I love it when he crawls up in my lap or runs up and gives you a great big hug!!

Titus is half way pottie trained, we ae so proud and excited!! He will tell you he has to go "Poughee" (potty) when he has to go poop and sometimes when he has to go pee, but we are still working on the consistancy. He loves to play any sport with a ball, baseball, football, soccer, and golf. Every day he puts his baseball helmet on, which he got for his birthday, gives myself or daniel the glove along with a ball and then gets his bat and hits the floor like he is hitting the plate and then wants you to throw the ball. He hasn't gotten the swinging down; so we just throw the ball at the bat. He will ask "You want to fight" and put up his dukes. Titus LOVES to drink "Mihk" (milk). His favorite movies at the current time are: Finding Nemo, Garfield and Tom and Jerry The Movie, which have replaced Little Rascals and Sandlot. He says "Peaze" (Please) and "tank u" (Thank you which he nods/bobbs his head while saying). If you ask him what his name is he will say "Tiyus" and he can tell you who mommy and daddy are if you point and ask. If you point to Benjamin and ask who he is, Titus will say "baby" or "Benjin". Sometimes he calles Benjamin, Travis. He likes to get an old cell phone and walks around saying "hewo, yeah, papaw..." like he is having a conversation with someone, but if you call Papaw, then he gets really shy and won't really talk. He call my mom "Mammy" which, I think drives her crazy, but he can't say Grammy just yet. He used to call my sister Beka, Bebba, but now he can pronounce his k's, so now he can say Katy and Kyle as well.

Benjamin is just a typical infant. He eats, sleeps, poops, and is starting to stay awake more and more every day. He had a tummy ache today so he was a little fussy. He is a much quieter baby than Titus was. Even when he cries he is kind of quiet. He wants to eat about every 3 hours and he is pretty much like clock work. I will be glad when he sleeps through the night!! He is going to be my cuddle bug, he loves to be wrapped up in a blanket. The more blankets the better. He looks just like Titus did when he was born, it is amazing, but then they are brothers.

I love all three of my boys (Daniel, Titus and Benjamin). I am so glad that God has blessed me with boys!! I love having balls all over my house every where. We have every size and shape imaginable in our house, mostly in Titus' room.

I love playing the piano in our church worship team!! My piano teach knew from when I was young that I would be playing for a church when I grew up. When Mark Forrest came over to my house after an AWANA conference to ask if I would play for Murphy Road Baptist Church, I was teriffied to play for a church. I have come a long way!!! I now with the encouragement and help of many Worship Leaders, sing and am the Lead Worshiper for Axis Church. Singing was a huge step for me!! I wanted to play Breathe so I asked the Worship Leader if he would sing if I played it and someone said "Why don't you just sing it"... To this day I still get nervous before every service. But I love singing praises to my Lord and Saviour. I love sharing my talents with others.

Last, but certainly not least. I love my husband Daniel. He encouraged me to start a blog. We will have been married 8 years this August. I can't believe is has almost been 8 years, sometimes I feel like we just got married. I am still learning how to communicate and love him well. He is the romantic in our relationship, but I try... it just takes me a VERY long time to get a romantic idea. We have a hard time keeping gifts from each other. Our first Christmas together, I don't think we had any gifts to give each other on Christmas day, because we were too excited about our gifts and couldn't wait. Christmas day wasn't very fun, because we had already opened everything. He makes me laugh and feel like a million dollars. We get frustrated with each other all the time, but I fall in love with him more and more every day.
